Details:

Orange Eye Royal Blue Tiger (OERBT) are popular in the hobby for their “orange eyes”, which are a stark contrast to their dark body. They are Caridinas, and as most Caridina Tigers, they can be difficult to keep compared to Neocaridina Shrimp as they are not as hardy to fluctuating water parameters. We keep ours in Neo parameters with overall success, but most colonies of OERBTs tend to be kept in Caridina parameters (lower pH and TDS).

There is some variability in the blue, with most of them appearing deep royal blue to almost black, with some older females displaying a reddish “rust” hue. Outside of this variability, our OERBTs are consistent in quality and requires minimal culling. Their eerie and unique appearance contrasts well with lighter substrates.
